Describe your sound:
Bluesy, Folky, Americana, Rock… with a Country twist.
1) What has been your most memorable show so far?
Our first show together was for Kaleigh Baker’s CD release which was such an incredible show. The energy on stage was great and it felt like the crowd was really into it… That was one of those shows that leaves you on a high for a few days after.
2) Which local band is your favorite one to play a show with?
Clearly we always love playing with Kaleigh, but it’s also great to play with Everyday Ghosts, or Chopper Stepe. Our sounds and styles are pretty compatible… and we share a drummer which is convenient!
3) What description gets used for your band that you would most like to correct people on? Why?
A lot of people assume that because I am a female singer/songwriter who plays guitar, I am going to just sit on a stool and sing quiet love ballads, which is not the case at all. I feel like we have so much more energy and color in our set… it’s much more rock ‘n roll than people expect it to be. I love catching people off guard with that!
4) What’s your favorite thing about being an Orlando band? What’s your least favorite?
I love the music community in Orlando. It’s nice to be able to go out any night of the week and hear great local music. Some of my favorite bands are local bands… Chopper, Matt Butcher, Kaleigh. I feel like the artists and musicians in Orlando are really creating the scene which is nice. If you move to New York, Portland, or Austin, it’s already happened and you would be riding the coat tail of others, but here we are carving out a niche, and putting Orlando on the map as a place to hear amazing music. On the other side of that, I would love to see new faces at the shows. I would love if our music community could reach out to a larger audience… but it will happen!
5) Any big news to share?
The band was just recently featured on SBK Live as band of the week. We were interviewed and played live on the show which was an incredible experience. Other than that, we are going to start recording our EP very soon… so stay tuned!
