Hate Eternal: Phoenix Amongst the Ashes CD review

(3.5 out of 5)

Hate Eternal’s fifth LP keeps true to the band’s Florida death metal roots, although it doesn’t pack too many surprises. Despite a couple of mediocre tracks that get a little too pleased with their own shreddy complexity, the set really coalesces with songs like “Thorns of Acacia,” a relentless, intricate, and near-anthemic crowd-pleaser.

First appeared in Revolver, June 2011.
